Sexy Vision #SV-109 Nudy Brown Circle Lenses Review

Like most circle lenses in Japan, these come in blister packs instead of bottles.

Design: The design of this is very simple, with just a thin and uneven circle with a few sprinkles around it and  few lighter brown sprinkles inside. Because the sprinkles get fewer towards the inside of the lenses, these lenses blend with your eyes perfectly, so that it is hard to tell where you real eye color ends and the lenses start, even from close up. The design is just perfect if you want to keep a natural look and don't want people to notice your lenses on first glance.

Sexy Vision #SV-109 Nudy Brown Circle Lenses Review

Color: There is a big difference between the color shown on the packing and the color the lenses really have. My eyes are green with brown towards the outer circle, so the lenses that look the most natural on my eyes are yellowish brown lenses. On the packing the lenses looked more like a yellow-shaded brown, but they really are a dark chocolate brown. But since the lenses pattern and color is made up by just a few sprinkles, it is no big deal and they still blend in with my natural eye color quite well.

Enlargement: These lenses are labeled as 14.5mm lenses, but this is one of the unfortunate cases where there is a really huge border around the circles that is blank. Therefore the colored part of these lenses is not bigger than the one of 14.00mm lenses and this, combined with their natural design, gives almost no enlargement effect at all.

Sexy Vision #SV-109 Nudy Brown Circle Lenses Review

Comfort: All lenses I bought in Japan so far were always among the most comfortable. These are no exception. My eyes feel tired after wearing them for a while, but I never really actually notice that I have lenses in my eyes.

If these were just slightly larger, then they would probably be among my most favorite lenses ever.

Review: Peripera Rose Nail Sweet Meringue #BL609 Meringue Soda Nail Color

Hello! ~ I am a big fan of Peripera nail color (as you might have noticed) and was very excited when I saw their Sweet Meringue line, which was something new from their usually one-colored, metallic, or glitter nail color, so I had to buy one to try out. The one I picked was the Peripera Rose Nail Sweet Meringue nail color in the shade #BL609 Meringue Soda.  There are also 3 other pastel shades available. The design of the bottle is identical to all other nail colors from the same line with its long golden cap with elegant  rose decorations on it. I always think that this long cap that is more narrow in the middle lies pretty good in the hand, compared to other very small nail color caps.

Peripera Rose Nail Sweet Meringue #BL609 Meringue Soda Nail Color Review

#BL609 Meringue Soda is a light pastel blue nail with different silver-white flakes inside of it. Some are tiny round flakes and some are medium and big hexagonal flakes.

Peripera Rose Nail Sweet Meringue #BL609 Meringue Soda Nail Color Review

The brush has just the right size for the width of a nail and makes applying the nail color very easy.

Peripera Rose Nail Sweet Meringue #BL609 Meringue Soda Nail Color Review

Sadly the result was very disappointing in my opinion. Usually Peripera Rose Nail colors have very good coverage with one layer already. But this one doesn't cover well at all and one layer will just give my nails a weird bluish hue that makes my nails look either dirty or as if I was about to freeze off. Even at 3 layers the blue is still slightly transparent. What's also pretty disappointing is that there aren't really many flakes in it, so I will occasionally have a few white dots on a nail and maybe 2 or 3 of the bigger flakes on all of my fingers, if I am lucky.

Peripera Rose Nail Sweet Meringue #BL609 Meringue Soda Nail Color Review

I tried using this as a topcoat on a blue nail color with good coverage, but all it did was add a few lonely white dots and the result was more than underwhelming.
The wear of this nail color would be average, but the big flakes tend to fall off, leaving empty spaces on your nails. This nail color really isn't one I can recommend.

Pretty bottle
Easy to apply (unless you want an even result with the flakes)

Extremely sheer
Too few flakes
Big flakes fall off easily

Review: Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner

Hello! ~ This is a review of the Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner. I already reviewed the Skinfood Fresh Apple Mild Pore Peeling Gelfrom the same line a long time ago and loved it, so I wanted to try out more products from this line ever since. I have no idea why it took me almost 2 years to finally do so. The Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner comes in a long 160ml glass bottle with green apples on it. It's nothing fancy, but still pretty. The bottle looks identical than the one of the serum from the same line, so don't confuse these two if you want to purchase this product.

Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner Review
Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner Review

While a glass bottle makes the product appear way less "cheap" than a plastic bottle, I am not too fond of it. The bottle is really heavy and it is very hard to get product out of it in the beginning. I experienced the same with previous Skinfood toners that come in bottles: At the beginning you only get single drops out of it and it takes forever to get enough product for one cotton pad out of the bottle. Only once you have used up about 1/3 of the bottle's content, the toner starts coming out in a normal way.

The Skinfood Fresh Apple Mild Pore Toner is a "carbonated toner with fresh unripe green apple extract that cleanses soap residue and skin impurities while tightening pores."

Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner Review
If you open the label at the bottom of the bottle you get a short English explanation of the toner's main ingredients: "Unripe green apples have a bitter, astringent flour. This green apple extract helps control sebum production and tightens enlarged pores. Cho Jung sparkling water refreshes and tones skin naturally."Unfortunately there is no complete English ingredient list to be found on the product.

Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner Review

The Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner is color-less andhas an apple scent to it, though it is way less noticeable than with the peeling gel. I suppose there is alcohol in it, which makes every scent less pleasant.

Skinfood Fresh Apple Sparkling Pore Toner Review

The toner works alright for me, though it isn't anything extraordinary. Maybe I was having too high expectations after the peeling gel, but this one doesn't improve my skin condition noticeable regarding all my impurities. However, it does not dry out my skin and seems to help with sebum control indeed, as my skin appears slightly less greasy while I used this product. My pores also seem alright, though they were never overly huge to begin with. A decent product, but no miracle, so I don't think I would re-purchase this. I have heard that this one works better if you combine it with other products from the same line though.

Nice scent
Helps with sebum control
Mild toner

Heavy glass bottle
Content hard to get out of bottle
No improvement on skin impurities
No English ingredient list

Shopping: Taobao & AliExpress

Hello!~ It has been a while since my last shopping post. I simply haven't bought all that much lately (I really have way too many clothes already) and it was never worth to make a post because of one single item, but now I have a collected a few things I want to show again.

I bought this coat from Loveable Secrets on AliExpress. This was my first experience with this store and I don't have any complains whatsoever. The jacket is just like I expected, looks exactly as on the picture and is overall just great. The store is selling all kinds of different clothes, though most aren't Mori Girl-style clothes.

This lovely handmade hairpin is from a Taobao seller called never-more. The shop mostly offers clothes, but also a few Mori Girl suitable accessories from time to time. It's attached to a solid, bronze-colored bobby-pin, cute and well made and was around $5, so rather cheap. The store itself isn't really a Mori Girl-themed one, but all clothes they sell look quite interesting, so, if you aren't into Mori Girl fashion, you still might want to take a look around.

This skirt is from a store I bought before, one of my most favorite on Aliexpress - Forest Girl Fans. The skirt is just perfect, very well-made, beautiful, unique and fitting my style so well. Probably one of my most favorite skirts ever! If you are into Mori Girl fashion and have not checked out this store before, I recommend you do it now. While I do experience problems with AliExpress sellers quite often, I never had any problems with this store and they also ship out the items pretty much immediately after they get the payment.

This is another item I bought from forest Girl fans, though I bought this from their Taobao store, as they don't always offer all of their items on AliExpress. While my experience with the shop was great, as ever, and the product is of good quality, I was not too happy with this as I thought this would actually be a proper jacket. I thought it would be of thicker material, but this is actually a rather light jacket, maybe for spring and autumn, that doesn't do much for keeping you warm. It's still nice, but since I already have a ton of light cardigans, I would not have bought it if I knew what it was. That's what you get from not being able to understand any Chinese item descriptions. ;)

I am still not really buying much new clothes, so I think it will probably be a long while till my next shopping post.

Review: Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash

Hello! ~ This is a review of the Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash. I have tried multiple cleansing products with baking powder before, like the Etude House Baking Powder BB Deep Cleansing Foam, the Etude House Baking Powder Pore Cleansing Cream or the Missha Green Tea Powder Wash with Baking Powder and liked all of them, so I was curious about trying out more products with this ingredient. The Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash comes in a 65ml plastic bottle. The packing design is cute, but nothing special.

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash Review
Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash Review

This facial cleanser contains ingredients like baking soda (baking powder), papain enzyme, tea tree oil and with hazel and is supposed to deep clean and moisturize your skin and remove dead skin cells. It is formulated with carbonated water, which is supposed to add minerals to your skin. Baking powder can help balance your skin's ph level and is said to help with acne.

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash Review

The cleanser consists of a white powder with a few blue grains. I thought it would be similar to the Missha Green Tea Powder Wash with Baking Powder, but while the Missha one was a fine powder, just like baking powder, this one is more coarse. It has a very strong citrus-like scent to it, which I did not like at all, but you only really notice it if you smell the powder directly. The scent doe snot linger on your face.

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash Review

You take a small amount of the powder into your hand and and then just add a bit off water. You can create a lathe by mixing it in your hands, but just applying it on your face like this, and then mixing it together while massaging it into your face works just as well. At first I thought that this method of using it was a bit inconvenient, but after a few times I got used to it and did not mind.

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash Review

Apparently you can also use this product as a face mask, by using double the amount of powder, but I never tried this.

The Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash works okay for me. I was a bit worried that it would be irritating my skin, because of the big grains, but once mixed with water the grains dissolve into lathe and only the blue grains remain, which add to a nice and mild peeling-effect, but don't irritate my skin. It helps removing my daily makeup thoroughly, but it didn't improve my skin condition noticeably regarding my breakouts, which is alright for me, because no product ever did, so I did not expect it. I have become very modest with my demands regarding facial cleansers and am grateful if my skin conditions doesn't get any worse when I try out a new product.

Thoroughly cleansing / Makeup removal
Content lasts really long

Review: Meishoku Porerina Cleansing Gel

Hello! ~ Today I will review the Meishoku Porerina Cleansing Gel for you, which is a nose cleansing gel. This is probably a product most of you have not heard of before, as Meishoku isn't exactly one oft he most famous Japanese brands in the west. It caught my attention because of its cute packing, which is a 30g tube with baby pink and baby blue stripes on it. The tube contains the kind of weird slogan "When the pores are clean, the mind dances. Porerina will make you happy." I can already tell you that it did not make me happy at all.

Meishoku Porerina Cleansing Gel Review

The Meishoku Porerina Cleansing Gel is a pore nose cleaning product consisting of a thermal gel combined with orange oil. It claims to remove blackheads and dirt of skin completely and close pores tightly. It's a semi-transparent gel with a slight yellowish hue to it and a citrus-like scent.

Meishoku Porerina Cleansing Gel Review

Meishoku claims that this gel turns hot once in contact with water. Then the heat is supposed to open your skin's pores and sweep them of dirt instantly. You don't need to squeeze out any blackheads or whiteheads from your nose. After washing your face, you apply a proper amount of the product to cover your nose and massage it for 30 seconds and then rinse it off with water. You are supposed to repeat the step 1-2 times each week.
However, I think "hot" is a huge overstatement. The gel turns mildly warm at best and, no matter how much I wished for it to be otherwise, I have to admit that I could not see any effect at all after using this product. There was no reduction in bleakheads right after using it, my pores did not appear any smaller. I tried to check the gel on my nose for any signs of removed blackheads, but nope, nothing either. Even after using this product constantly for several weeks, there was no visible improvement.

What's there left to say? This product simply doesn't work for me. Not at all. I don't seem to have much luck with nose cleanings products, but after checking out the few reviews of this product that I could find online, I noticed that I am not the only one. Every single blogger who tried this out shared my opinion on this, so don't waste your money on this product.

Pretty packing

Doesn't really get hot
No effect at all

Review: Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner #3 Milky Brown

Hello! ~ This will be a very short review, as there isn't much to write about this product. I was even considering not reviewing it at all, but, even though there isn't much to say, this is still a product I like to use a lot, so I decided to do a quick review of the Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner in the shade #3 Milky Brown after all. This lipliner is available in 5 different shades, containing 0.2g each. There is also a refill available for this, but seeing as the actual lipliner is less than $4, I am not sure I see the point of this so much. I have read in someone else's review that the refill lasted her for about 10 usages, even though it also contains the same amount as the full product. Personally I have yet to reach the end of it, have been using it almost daily for at least a month now and it still isn't anywhere near its end, so I am not sure how you could ever use it up in 10 usages only. Maybe she was painting her whole lips with this. Used for the outer lines of your lips only, this should last pretty long.

Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner #3 Milky Brown Review

Etude House claims that the formula with silicon oil does not smudge easily and gently creates smooth and soft lips. The lipliner pencil is twist-able and easy to apply due to a very creamy texture.

Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner #3 Milky Brown Review

I originally wanted a shade that would come close to my natural lipclor, so I could just use the lipliner alone to refine my lipline and fix my lip's tone after smudging BB Cream all over it. However, like it often happens when you buy something online without being able to try it out, the color was a bit darker than I expected, so I am using it in combination with lipsticks or gloss only.

Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner #3 Milky Brown Review

I guess the reason why I like this so much, and prefer it over all the other lip liners I have tried so far, is really that it is so easy to apply. It is not, like claimed, very smudge free, but the good thing about that is that I can smudge it into my lipstick easily and therefore make it look more natural. I just hate the look where your lips are noticeable outlined. On the other hand it does not seem to smudge outside of my lips.

Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner #3 Milky Brown Review

Cheap price
Refill available
Soft texture
Easy to apply
Can be smudged to blend with lipstick (claims to be smudge free and should be listed under "bad", properly, but I actually like the fact a lot)

GEO Geolica Euro Circle Dark Brown Circle Lenses Review

The GEO Geolica lenses are the first GEO lenses that don't come in small vial bottles, but in blisters.  I am someone who always curses about the the very common bottle packing, because I can never manage to open the bottle without using sheer force and instruments like knifes to aid me. I even managed to hurt myself on the really sharp bottle caps multiple times, so a big hurray for blister packings! The outer packing of the Geolica lenses also look so much more elegant and sophisticated.

GEO Geolica Euro Circle Dark Brown Circle Lenses Review

Design: The design is very simple and natural, just the way I like it. There is one solid and quite thick circle outside, which gets more and more sheer towards the inside of the lens, with just a few symmetric sprinkles placed here and there. It's the perfect design for blending in, so you don't have to worry about the color change of your natural eyes and the lenses.

GEO Geolica Euro Circle Dark Brown Circle Lenses Review

Color: The color was a bit not what I expected. As you can see from the photo of the lenses in the lens case, they appear dark brown - like the color name of the lenses indicates - at first, but when I put them into my eyes, they look a lot darker, even though I have natural light eyes. It depends a lot on the light conditions. Sometimes they look dark brown, but sometimes the circle looks almost completely black.

GEO Geolica Euro Circle Dark Brown Circle Lenses Review

Enlargement: I think with a diameter of 14.2mm it is needless to day that they have absolutely no enlargement. There is a slight "enlargement effect", meaning your eyes "pop" more, stand out more, and might appear bigger, but the lenses pretty much cover my natural iris only, so it does not really get any bigger with the help of these lenses.

GEO Geolica Euro Circle Dark Brown Circle Lenses Review

Comfort: So far the only GEO lenses where I considered the comfort good were the ones from their XtraX line. I did not expect that it would get any better than this, but it actually does: The GEO Geolica Euro Circle are the most comfortable lenses I have ever worn. The first lenses where, even after wearing them for a while, I can actually forget that I am wearing any lenses at all. The comfort is truly amazing, even for my very sensitive eyes.

GEO Geolica Euro Circle Dark Brown Circle Lenses Review

I really love the comfort and also the natural design of these. I wish the color was actually slightly lighter and the enlargement is just not big enough for my personal needs, but for those of you who just want your eyes to stand out more and still look natural, these might be perfect. I also think, given their great comfort and their relatively small size, that these lenses might be a very good pick for circle lens-beginners.

Review: Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV #02 Natural Beige

Hello! ~ This is a review of the Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV #02 Natural Beige. I am sorry for the photos of this review not being of the greatest quality. I had this item for so long and wanted to finally review it, but waiting for a day with good lighting conditions just didn't make the whole issue any faster. This is one of the items that most certainly did not catch my attention because of its packing design, which is plane boring/ugly, but because I was in Japan at the time I bought it, and had forgotten to take any concealer with me. The humid weather at that time didn't really allow for much makeup, so I needed a concealer, and one that stayed on even with a lot of sweat on your face. I am not sure how much product this contains, as neither the packing nor Canmake's official site give any information on that, but I would say it is pretty much an average size concealer.

Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV #02 Natural Beige Review
Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV #02 Natural Beige Review

The Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV has a SPF25/PA++ sun protection. I am, to be honest, not too fond of this, because whenever you apply sun protection, your skin doesn't tan as fast as without one. I already have this problem with BB Creams with sun protection: The skin on my face is much lighter in summer than the rest of my body, which looks odd. Now imagine you are covering single blemishes on your face. It does not pay a big role if you wear BB cream, foundation or powder with sun protection as well, but if you want to use this product only, it might end up looking weird, if you always tend to apply it on the same areas.

Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV #02 Natural Beige Review

The concealer has a soft applicator tip that makes it easy to apply the product to both larger areas and more tricky areas. According to Canmake, it is pigment-free, perfume-free, alcohol-free, has non-chemical UV filters, flexible stretchy powder, light-diffusing powder and contains conditioning and sebum-absorbing powder, botanical moisturizing agents, moisturizing/skin-protecting agent, skin-firming agents.

Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV #02 Natural Beige Review

The formulation is supposed to cover pigmentation irregularities, pores and fine lines and prevent your make-up from running or creasing. The waterproof formulation is supposed to be resistant to water, sweat and sebum, and control stickiness, shininess and dullness of your skin. I can 100% agree with this. As I said in the beginning, I was looking for a concealer that would work well, even with a lot of sweating, and this concealer stays where it is supposed to be, even on a very hot and humid summer day. It is also extremely easy to apply: I sometimes have the problem with concealer, that I apply it on a red spot for example and want to dab it in so it blends with my skin, but the more I dab, the more I start to remove it from the actual spot I wanted to cover. The Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV has an awesome texture, which gives you perfect coverage, but lets you blend the concealer with your ski quite well. It also works amazing on lines on your face! While other concealers would collect in the creases under my eyes, this doesn't happen with this product at all, and even dry patches can be covered up with this quite well, making the areas you covered look much smoother!

Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV #02 Natural Beige Review

What's also great is that this concealer is available in 3 different shades: #01 Light Beige, #02 Natural Beige and #03 Ochrel Beige, which makes it easier to find a color that matches your skin tone. I was lucky that I was able to actually try it out in the store, and #02 comes really close to my natural skin color, being just slightly too yellow-shaded. According to Canmake, the lightest shade can also be used as a highlighter, and the darkest shade for conturing.

Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV #02 Natural Beige Review

I know that the Canamke Cover & Strech Concealer UV doesn't look like a very interesting product just by the look of the packing design, but this is really the best concealer I have ever tried! Can fully recommend this and will probably stick to Canmake concealers in the future!

Review: Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream

Hello! ~ Today I will review the Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream for you. This is another product that was  was kindly sponsored to me by W2Beauty, a store specializing on Korean beauty products. This CC Cream comes in a simple designed 35ml tube, which has a handy and hygienic pump dispenser. The outer packing is also quite simple, but still somewhat elegant looking, made of a solid craft paper-like material with some nice flower imprinting on it. This CC Cream is available in two different versions: "Brightening" and "Cover". I don't care for brightening and I have also heard this version had a "dewy" finish, which I don't like, so I went for the Cover one.

Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream Review
Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream Review

According to Innisfree "this cover up CC cream is formulated with serum's abundant moisturizing ingredients to provide delicate sleekness and contains skin tone powder to naturally cover skin imperfections." It also has a sun protection of SPF35 / PA++.
Sadly the rest of the text on the box is in Korean only, so I have no clue about the product's ingredient list. Innisfree is known for using lots of plant extracts though and the scent of the CC Cream reminds me of a mixture of calendula and sunblocker scent.

Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream Review

I have not tried many CC Creams so far, but the ones I tried usually worked like this: You have a white cream that contains many tiny (not really visible) colored balls, and if you start rubbing the CC Cream on your face, these burst and let out the color, meaning you start out with a white product on your face and adjust the color by rubbing the cream into your skin. Personally I have not been the greatest fan of this kind of application, because I like to apply BB Cream/ CC Cream / Foundation on my face very lightly and then apply slightly thicker layers on areas that need extra cover, like under my eyes, around my nose, on red spots and so on - basically like a concealer. But since you have a white cream with the usual products, you cannot just apply it like that, but need to rub the cream in thoroughly and the more you rub it in, the thiner the layer gets, which makes covering up single imperfections much more difficult. The Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream is different - It is the first CC Cream that isn't white, but comes out of the tube in something close to its final shade. When I swatched it on my hand, my first impression was that the CC Cream had a slightly orange undertone that did not match my skin very well, at least not the one on my hand. However, when applied, the CC Cream adjusted really well to my skin tone, and was much paler and white-shaded than what I expected.

Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream Review

The coverage of the Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream is just perfect for my taste: It evens out my skin tone, hides minor blemishes just well, without making my face look mask-like or caky and gives my face a matte finish. It combines the lightweight texture of a CC Cream with the decent coverage of a light BB Cream and works really well for me. It's neither too creamy, nor too liquid, easy to apply and easy to blend. The oil control of this product is average - I guess it will work very well on normal skin, though it struggles with my extremely oily skin after a few hours, which is something I already expected.

Innisfree CC Cover Serum CC Cream Review

As far as CC Creams go, this is the best product I have tried so far. I am quite fond of it and love using it during the hot summer days. I also love how you can adjust the coverage you need as it is very built-able with multiple layers. I certainly can recommend this and it made me want to try out more Innisfree CC- and BB Creams in the future. If this product caught your interest, you can purchase it from W2Beauty here.

Review: Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off

Hello! ~ This is a review of the Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off. I tried a sample of the Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Off before and did not like it, because it looked gross and smelled unpleasantly. However, I love Strawberries, so I gave this similar product a try. The mask comes in a 100ml pot with a pretty and deliberately old-fashioned looking design, which I like a lot.

Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off Review
Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off Review

The Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask contains black sugar from Brazil which, according to Skinfood, is full of minerals which adhere to your skin gently. It also contains strawberry seeds and strawberry seed oil for a "refreshing strawberry fragrance". Of course, like all fruit extracts, strawberry extracts are good for your skin too, but Skinfood's description makes it look like they took their Black Sugar Mask and added strawberries, because many people thought that the original mask looked and smelled weird, like I did.

Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off Review

The mask itself looks like mashed strawberries with sugar grains and indeed smells like strawberries, though very natural and not the artificial "bubblegum strawberry scent", so that's very pleasant.

Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off Review
Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off Review

The mask is supposed to exfoliate your skin and leave it clean and feeling fresh. The black sugar grains are quite big and can feel very rough when massaged onto your face, but Skinfood suggests to add water or toner while massaging to avoid irritations. I use it without water when I apply it, and then add water to massage it into my skin once again before washing it off, and I have not experienced any irritations, despite having very sensitive skin.

Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off Review

The mask is a bit unpleasant to wear, it looks very weird and is a bit sticky. It also doesn't dry up like many other face masks, so you have the sticky mass like this on your face all the time, but I really absolutely love the result of this mask! After using the Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask my skin feels so incredibly smooth and as soft as a baby's bottom! I don't dare using this too often, because I fear it might irritate my skin after all, but once a week causes no problems at all and works very well for me.

Nice design
Pleasant scent
Makes skin incredibly smooth

Can be a bit harsh on skin

The Super Nudy circle lens line by GEO is available in 5 different colors and comes in the typical GEO Medical vials with the GEO Authenticity Check sticker on them. There is also a similar line available by GEO, called "Nudy" only, so don't confuse these two!

Design: The design is the "typical" GEO circle lens design to me, same as their classical GEO Angel lens design, with minor alterations. There isn't much of a pattern inside of the circle. As the lenses are semi-transparent, the light gray pattern inside is hardly noticeable. The only thing  that is very striking is the dark circle around the lens. I would have preferred it if wasn't all that prominent, which is what the regular Nudy line lenses looks like. However, the regular Nudy lenses are much smaller in diameter and therefore useless to me. Sadly the dark circle is way too noticeable to have them pass as "natural looking".

Color: The color looks very different than on GEO's official product pictures. While on the picture it appears to be a dark gray-blue, the actual color is very light and almost a bit turquoise. However, because of the semi-transparent color, the lens's color will mix up with your natural eye color and look different on each person. On my light green eyes the lenses appear to be a very bright and striking light blue.

Enlargement: My circle lens motto is "the bigger, the better" and usually 15mm is my favorite diameter. However, these lenses with their diameter of 14.8mm, combined with the design, mainly the dark circle, give a pretty good enlargement effect. Size-effect-wise I cannot notice any difference to 15mm lenses.

Comfort: I always have to say that my eyes are very sensitive and don't react well to many lenses when writing my reviews, meaning a lens that wasn't very comfortable for me, might be okay for everyone else. For me the GEO XTRA line is one of the most comfortable, so I am always very disappointed when I try out new GEO lenses and they cannot keep up with that comfort. Sadly the GEO Super Nudy Blue XCH-622 Circle Lenses are such a case. Their comfort is average at best. I find them tolerable when I am outside, but whenever I am inside with indoor air, I can feel them in my eyes constantly. I also catch myself fumbling in my eyes all the time while wearing them and my eyes feel quite exhausted once I take them out. 1-2 hours only are the tolerable max for me, while I could wear GEO Xtra lenses or hours without noticing them much.

I am not really convinced by these lenses. While the design and color are nice, the comfort isn't acceptable to me. These turned out to be some of the lenses which I only wore 3 or 4 times other than for taking photos. If your eyes don't tend to react sensitive to lenses, you should still go for them if you like the design. I have read other bloggers rate lenses I did not find comfortable as "very comfortable" before. If you have very sensitive eyes though, these will not be your best choice.

Review: Canmake Glow Fleur Cheeks #3 Fairy Orange Fleur

Hello! ~ I feel kind of bad for taking so long with some of my reviews. This product is one I had for almost a year now! Past time for a review of the Canmake Glow Fleur Cheeks in the shade #3 Fairy Orange Fleur. I am a big Canmake fan. Canmake products are cheap and have a decent quality, but often the look of the products is rather boring. The Canmake Glow Fleur Cheeks is an amazing blusher that caught my attention because of the design: There is a really beautiful flower design imprinted on the blusher.

Canmake advertises this blusher to have the "staying power worthy of a cream blush" and claims that it doesn't "feel powdery", but clings to your skin like a cream blusher. I wish I could give you any statement about this, but I am actually a big fan of powder blushers, and had never any problems with powder blushers not having enough staying power or feeling powdery, so this powder blusher works perfectly fine for me - just like most other powder blushers I have tried.
It is also supposed to have "sebum-absorbing powder (silica)" to prevent make-up run. Now, that's great and something I could need, as I have very oily skin, but yet again my cheeks are pretty much the only area of my face that doesn't get extremely oily, so I can't really benefit from this.
This powder is available in 5 different shades and I love all of them, so it was hard to decide which one to get. In the end I settled for shade 3, which is supposed to be "A juicy clear orange for a stylish impression." There is a decent shimmer in the color, but nothing that will make your cheeks look shiny or weird. The pretty flower pattern consists of 4 different colors, of which only one is really orange, two light pink, one medium pink and a white one. The pattern is so pretty, it is almost painful to destroy it by using this blusher.

The blusher comes with its own small brush, which I LOVE, because I can take this with me, without having to carry around my huge blusher brush. The brush is small, but completely sufficient for its purpose.

Canmake Glow Fleur Cheeks #3 Fairy Orange Fleur Review

The color this blusher gives you is a pretty warm orange-pink. The color is very build-able, meaning you can go for a very natural soft blush, as well as an overblush-look, depending on how much you apply of the this product.

Canmake Glow Fleur Cheeks #3 Fairy Orange Fleur Review

I love the Canmake Glow Fleur Cheeks. While I cannot really benefit much from all the cool stuff this promises, it works perfectly fine for me as a blusher ,and both the color as well as the look of the product are amazing.

Beautiful product design
Reasonable price
Comes with own brush
Pretty color

Review: Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam

Hello! ~I already reviewed a very similar product a while ago - the Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash. Today I will review another product from the same line, the Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam. This cleanser comes in a 150ml tube which has pretty much the same design as the Powder Wash: Not very appealing, looking a bit like some kind of household product.

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam Review
Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam Review

The Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam is formulated with harrogate carbonated water to provide minerals to your skin. It is supposed to have the ability to alleviate skin diseases by reducing itching and keeping skin as clean and fresh. The cleansing foam also contains baking powderand tea tree extract for sebum and pore control.

While there is no English ingredient list ( or no English description even) available on the packing, luckily I was able to find one on the Holika Holika webpage:
Water, Myristic Acid,Glycerin, Potasium Hydroxide, Stearic Acid, Peg-32,Glycol Distearate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine , Polyethylene,Glyceryl Stearate, Peg-100 Stearate, Palm Kernelamide Dea,Zea Mays (Corn) Starch, Microcrystalline Cellulose  , Lactose,Sucrose , Ultramarines,Mineral Water, Propylparaben, Bht,Methylparaben, Disodium Edta,Sodium Bicarbonate, Butylene Glycol, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Extract , Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract , Fragrance

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam Review

The foam comes out of the tube as a white cream with small blue dots in it. It has, like all products with baking powder I have tried so far, a citrus scent. When you mix it with water and rub it together you get a very thick lather. The product is very efficient as you only need a tiny amount of it to get a rich lather. I had to get used to how little you actually need to cover all your face and used way too much of it in the beginning.

Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam Review
Holika Holika Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam Review

The cleansing foam works amazing for removing makeup thoroughly, without leaving any trace and while the Soda Pore Cleansing Powder Wash offered no improvement of my skin at all, the Soda Pore Cleansing BB Deep Cleansing Foam actually does. After using this daily for a while, I had noticeable less pimples. Especially the small white hard knobs that you sometimes get under your skin were a major problem for me before I started using this product, but were reduced drastically after a while. Unfortunately the cleansing foam didn't seem to have any effect on blackheads (especially around my nose area) and big pores, as well as sebum control for me, but I am still quite content, because some improvement on my skin's condition is better than no improvement at all.  I don't plan to repurchase this, but will continue to search for a product that might improve my skin even more, but among all the cleansers I have tried so far, this is one of the better ones.

Very efficient, as only a tiny amount is needed
Removes makeup thoroughly
Less pimples

No improvement regarding sebum
Poor packing design

Review: Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream #02 Glow

Hello! ~ Today I will review the Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream #02 Glow. I already reviewed the Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream #01 Silk here and, since I find these two products to be extremely similar, this review will be a very short one, otherwise I would just repeat myself.

This product comes in a really beautiful and elegant looking box and the tube, which contains 35g of product, is just as pretty. The only difference to the #01 Silk version is that this one isn't all white, but has a pinkish hue.

The  Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream is a multitasking 8-in1 product, which hydrates, primes, conceals, treats and protects your skin and promises anti-aging effect, stress relief, hydrating effect, a SPF 30 / PA++ sun protection, tone-up, a smooth texture and luminosity. This is identical to the #01 Silk version.

It comes in a handy and hygienic pump dispenser, which is easy to use and lets you dose the CC Cream pretty well.

The cream itself is white with a lot of tiny bluish grains in it. When you apply the cream and start blending it in, the color starts to change into a more skin-colored shade.

The Etude House Correct & Care CC Cream doesn't offer any kind of real coverage. All it does is even out your skin tone a bit. If you have a good skin condition, this product will be enough to make your skin look perfect. If you have lots of blemishes, this product can only achieve a very small visible improvement. Etude House suggests to use this as a primer.

The only difference between the #01 Silk and the #02 Glow version is really that the Glow one gives you a more "dewy" result, while the silk one is slightly more matte and a bit more "powdery". Other than that, these are pretty much exactly the same products. Unfortunately the Glow one does not work for me at all, because my skin is so oily and the extra glow makes it appear even oilier.

Beautiful packing
Evens out skin tone
Handy pump dispenser

No good result on oily skin
No coverage

Review: Etude House Color My Brows #3 Red Brown

Hello!~ This is a review of the Etude House Color My Brows eyebrow mascara in the shade #3 Red Brown. I already had this product in #2 Light brown and wrote a review about it here

The mascara comes in a paper packing and contains 4.5g of product. It is a bit smaller than a common eyelash mascara.
Eyebrow mascaras are awesome if you dye your hair and you eyebrows are a different shade than the hair on your head. Of course you can also dye your eyebrowns, I tried that, but since my eyebrows grow so fast, I would have to dye them every 3 days, which isn't an acceptable option for me, so I like using eyebrow mascaras. Not only can they change the color of your eyebrows, they can also help keeping your eyebrows in order or fill out empty spaces

Since the eyebrow mascara is smaller than a normal mascara, the brush is also smaller and just the right size for eyebrows.

#3 Red Brown is exactly what the name says: A reddish brown. I did not have much of a problem handling the #2 Light Brown shade, probably because the shade was much lighter than my natural browns. But with #3 Red Brown I have the feeling that I was getting way too much of the product on the brush. It made application hard and the result sometimes messy. My eyebrows often turned out looking very dark and bold. Most of all I had the feeling that there was way too much product getting on the area of my eyebrows where I started applying the mascara. It turned out to be much easier to use when I whipped the brush on a tissue paper before applying the mascara, but you waste quite a lot of product like this, so the mascara did not last long. When there wasn't much of the product left in the mascara, application was also much easier.

I like the color a lot and, even though you cannot see it in the photos, it matches my hair color really well. However, I think the brush collects way too much of the product for an easy application and even result

Affordable price
Nice color

Brush collects too much of the product
Even application difficult

Hello! ~ This is a review of the GEO Geolica Euro Celine Blue Circle Lenses. These lenses were kindly sponsored to me by Geo Coloured Lenses for review purpose. Geolica is a fairly new collection by GEO Meidcal and there are two Geolica lines available: Geolica Euro Circle and Geolica Euro Celine. I already had the chance to try out lenses from the Euro Circle line and you can read my review of them here.

GEO Geolica Euro Celine Blue Circle Lenses Review

The GEO Geolica lenses don't come in vial bottles, but in a beautiful and elegant cardbox packing and blisters, which are so much easier to open than the bottles. I really prefer this kind of packing.

GEO Geolica Euro Celine Blue Circle Lenses Review

Design: The Geloica Euro Celine Lenses have a very natural design that is close to the natural appearance of an iris. There is neither any fancy pattern, nor any darker circle around them. Unless you look at them from really close, you could not tell that anyone wearing them was wearing lenses at all.

GEO Geolica Euro Celine Blue Circle Lenses Review

Color: The color of them is just stunning! It is an amazing light blue. At the inner edges of the blue color, there is a fading yellowish circle, which makes them blend in with my natural green eyes quite well. I suppose that, because of that yellowish circle, they will also blend well with brown eyes.

GEO Geolica Euro Celine Blue Circle Lenses Review

Enlargement: There really isn't any noticeable enlargement in my opinion. With a diameter of only 14.2mm, they are about the same size as my natural iris. While the Euro Circle line was the same size, the lenses had a darker circle around them, which at least give a minimal visual enlargement effect, but the light Celine lenses are much lighter in color, and therefore don't have any enlargement, neither real nor apparent.

GEO Geolica Euro Celine Blue Circle Lenses Review

Comfort: I expected them to have the exact same comfort as the Euro Circle line - which was so great that I could not notice them in my eyes at all - but unfortunately this is not the case.  The comfort is still very good. They don't feel like a foreign object when wearing them, but my eyes start to feel a bit tired after wearing the lenses for a while.

I love the natural design and the color. They are perfect for people who just want to change their eye color, without having people notice that they are wearing lenses at once. For my personal taste they are a bit too small though, as I like circle lenses the most for their enlargement.
If these new GEO lenses caught your interest you can purchase them from Geo Coloured Lenses here.

Review: ElishaCoy Vitamin Pore Cleanser

Hello! ~ Today I will review the ElishaCoy Vitamin Pore Cleanser for you. This cleanser comes in a white cardbox packing with small portulaca flowers on it. The actual tube the product comes in holds 120ml of product and is light blue with a silver holographic ElishaCoy logo on it. It looks simple, but very high quality-like.

The reason why I picked this cleanser is because it promises to be a cleanser for problematic skin, which prevents black heads, cleans pores and offers oil control, while at the same time it is supposed to be hypoallergic and clean your skin gently without causing any irritations. If you followed my past reviews you might now that I have the very unfortunate combination of having very oily and troubled skins with lots of breakouts, but at the same time also have very sensitive skin, which is prone to rash and more breakouts due to allergic reaction. Since usually products for troubled skin are very harsh, this product sounded like something I should try out.

Main ingredients of the ElishaCoy Vitamin Pore Cleanser are  Panthenol (Vitamin B5),  Niacinamide (VitaminB3)  Tocopheryl acetate (VitaminE), Salicylic acid , Aloe Vera leaf extract and portulaca flowers extract. The vitamines provide nourishment to the skin and mild, small blue granules remove waste from your skin.

I was really content with this cleanser, because it keeps up to its promises: It is very mild, doesn't cause any irritationa, not even a stinging feeling in my eyes when using it to remove my eye makeup. At the same time it seems extremely efficient. Just applying a bit of it and mixing it with water creates a decent lather and removes my makeup completely. But what's best of all is that my overall skin condition actually got better! I can't say that it was a 180° improvement, but it was still a visible one, with clearly less blackheads around my nose area and overall less new pimples then usual. I am very pleased with this product and can recommend it.

Very mild product
No irritations
Very efficient
Reduces blackheads and pimples

Review: Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara

Hello! ~I am sorry for having been absent for so long, but I have not given up on blogging. I just really don't have much time lately. Neither to review products nor to even try them out. I didn't even find much time to look what new products are out there, so I will try catching up with some of my older products for now. I'll start with the Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara. This is another product that was  was kindly sponsored to me by W2Beauty, a store specializing on Korean beauty products.

Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review
Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review

This mascara comes in a cute black and pink packing in a cardoard box and holds 9.5g of product. It is a black mascara and, as far as I know, not available in any other colors.

Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review

The Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara is supposed to be volume-boosting and to be able to style your lashes in 3 different ways, depending on your settings. The upper part of the mascara can be twisted and there is an arrow with the writings "Step 1", "Step 2" and "Step 3" showing you which setting the mascara is in.

Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review
Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review

Step 1 is for "defined, clean volume". It is supposed to provides natural definition for everyday wear. Step 2 is for "Full, glamorous volume." It is supposed to add even more volume. Step 3 is for "Dramatic, smoky volume", creating big and bold lashes.
I admit that that I was - and still am - very sceptical about whether there is really any point in twisting the mascara. Is there really some kind of tricky mechanism behind it, or is it just all for show and all you are really doing is adding 3 coats of the very same mascara to your lashes. I am tending towards thinking the latter.

Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review

So, let's try out how it works. In the upper left corner you can see my lashes without any mascara. My lashes are rather long, but very thin. I do like the effect with one coat of "Step 1". It still looks very natural, could almost pass as "no-mascara"-look, but you can see that they seem a bit longer and more defined.

Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review

Step 2 makes my lashes very dark and bold. They also appear even longer, but unfortunately not fuller. This actually still looks good for afar, but I feel like, if you get up too close, the lashes don't look all that great anymore, because they stick together and it looks like I had thicker lashes, but fewer of them. Still an okay look, and if you have full lashes to begin with, this probably looks great, but it's not my most favorite look.

Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review

Step 3 doesn't really look any better. There isn't much different between Step 2, only that they stick together even more and appear clogged up. I don't think this is a very good look.

Etude House Lash Perm 3 Step Volumecara Mascara Review

I already posted this photo in a previous circle lens review and as you can see, it doens't look so bad from further away and your lashes really appear very prominent, but close up it looks really poor:

For me the 3-Step thing just doesn't seem to work. There are too many layers of mascara on my lashes. I've read in other reviews that the problem is that you have to apply the 3 coats really fast, because it only starts looking bad if one layer starts drying up and you apply the next over it then, but I couldn't make this work either way. However, I absolutely do love this mascara if I use one simple coat only, because I like how it makes my lashes look better, but still natural. I would even consider re-purchasing this mascara and continue using it like this, just this fancy 3-step-stuff isn't my cup of tea.

Using this as a normal 1-coat mascara, it gives a pretty, yet very natural lookLengthens lashes

Second and 3rd layer makes lashes stick together if you don't apply fast enough
